Top Ten Tips For Selecting A Wedding Band For Your Wedding or Corperate Event

1.    Read through your invitation list for your event. Try to calculate the age range of your guests and periods of music that they would listen to.  When deciding on a wedding band it is important to look through the wedding bands repertoire to see that they could accommodate the tastes of your guests.
2.     A live video or a music demo can be a great way to try before you buy, so you can be sure  that the wedding band will be a big hit with your guests.
3.    Be certain to book early! A lot of wedding band can be booked up for over a year in advanced so try to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Most live band will ask for a 50% deposit to reserve your date.
4.    Confirm the size of your venue! The size of your location will greatly determine what size wedding band you can have. A five piece wedding band can generally fit in to a 3 x 4 meter area. Leaving enough space for both the covers band and your guests is very important.
5.    Most hotels will require the covers band to provide public liability insurance and PAT tested equipment. Always check the function band can provide all the essential documents to play. This is also a great sign of their quality.
6.    Try to talk to the party band in person or by phone rather than by email when booking. Good function bands will always be glad to discuss your event at length and even advise on schedules for the entertainment.
7.    Requests! The top party bands are only too pleased to learn special songs for you and your guests to make your special day one to remember.
8.    Good party bands happy to dress up according to the theme of your night ie Halloween… This really helps the night go with a bang and to set a tone for the event.

10.    With function bands in my experience you get what you pay for. It takes many years to become a accomplished  musician and many more to produce a polished and professional function bands. Expect to pay from anywhere between “£1000 – £2000” for a professiona covers bands to play at your party.

our income comes from member subscriptions We need to carry PL insurance for the events that we stage. These can be indoor or outdoor concerts with one or morre bands. Our bands carry insurance for equipment etc and we need to cover say 10 events a year.
